Great Smoky Mountains National Park Collectible Wood Replica: Mingus Mill

$24.99

If you took the time to go see Mingus Mill near Cherokee, NC, then this is a must-have to keep the memories alive!  Mingus Mill is just one of a few mills left in Great Smoky Mountains National Park.  It uses a water-powered metal turbine instead of a water wheel to power all the machinery in the building–which was an improvement on the traditional wooden waterwheel–that made Mingus Mill one of the most advanced in the Smokies. Built in 1886, it was the largest grist mill in the Smoky Mountains.  This Mingus Mill piece is part of a collection, including the Great Smoky Mountains National Park Collectible Wood Replica: John P. Cable Grist Mill. Take a closer look to see if you can find the hidden cat in the picture! Wood replica measures 5 3/4 x 4 1/2 inches and is handcrafted on wood that is 3/4 inch thick.

All proceeds generated through the sale of Smokies Life merchandise go to Great Smoky Mountains National Park to support projects and services.
